Snowmobiling

There are various organisers of guided snowmobile safaris and tours taking you to scenic points and other attractions to enhance your mountain experience.  If you are lucky you may even spot moose, reindeer and ptarmigan on the way. Most tours make time for breaks, possibly cooking a meal on the campfire, or in a Sami tipi or just take a break for a cup of coffee seated on a reindeer skin in the snow.

Dogsledding

You can choose between a brief 20-minute tour near the slopes or a two-hour drive including coffee made on the campfire or opt for the four-hour lunch excursion where you can watch skiers at a distance. There may be chances of spotting reindeer, moose or ptarmigan in the backcountry. Start your adventure here.

Walking with the help of snow-shoes is an ideal alternative for those hoping for a walk in the mountains in winter; it is a great alternative for those unaccustomed to cross-country skiing. Ice Fishing

For ice fishing it is recommended that you use a guide who will take you to the best fishing spots, they will give you tips and hand you all the equipment that you will need.  If you want to experience ice fishing on your own we suggest Rörsjön, Hedeviken, Storvåndtjärn, Vemdalen, Järpbäcksdammen, Klövsjön, and Svartåstjärn. Horseback Riding in the Snow

There are also opportunities for horseback riding and sleigh rides for the whole family. Trumvallen offers a tour that starts at their beautiful western ranch and then goes up on the falls, alongside small rivers and old huts. This is an experience that you should not miss!
