Canoeing, Kayaking, and Boating

The River Veman is the blueish glittering artery that runs through the entire area to Vemhån and on wards to Lake Svegsjön. It provides for a long and wonderful leisurely canoeing adventure. Canoes and all other gear you may need can be rented in Vemdalen Village where you can also book a pickup service after concluding your tour – even when you opt for the multi-day paddling all the way down to Sveg. One fine day trip is from the campground down to Lake Håsjön in Vemhån.

The River Veman is a completely free and unregulated waterway and the character of the trip depends on the season. Early in the summer the current and the water volume are quite inflated,  but later on the waterway becomes soother. With less water it may be necessary to lift the canoe and carry it past some shallow and rocky sections.

Should you want to explore more open water and find your own private beaches you can rent kayaks and canoes  in Klövsjö or rowing boats for a pleasant tour in waterways and lakes with an accompanying guide as an option for tours between half a day, a full day or two days with overnight stay.  Click here to get more information.

Golf

Experience the wilderness in a more civilized way. There are several great golfing opportunities throughout the area. The 18-hole course in Hede by the river Ljusnan has a magnificent view of Sonfjället. The course is characterized by large greens, first-rate fairways and interesting water hazards at most of the holes. Each hole has four grass-tees from 4100 to 5900 meters.

The Klövsjö 18 hole course spreads over an old shieling and is full of surprises and challenges with narrow fairways and sudden level differences. Some of the course’s greens are actually built in three different levels. Just as unique as this hilly golf courses design is, is the setting with the views of the mountains and the country’s most beautiful mountain village, Klövsjö. The 18-hole course is also complemented by the nine-hole “Fäbodbanan”. On this course it is pay & play that applies. Fäbodbanan is a dream for the youngest and for beginners in the gorgeous world of golf.
